If there's one thing Richard Donner's "Superman" (and, at least in spots, Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns") got right, it was the way the film was able to capture the infectious, zippy spirit that made the original comics so much fun. Alas, that quality was noticeably lacking in the uber-serious "Man of Steel" teaser, which we can only hope doesn't account for the tone of the entire film. For crying out loud, it's Superman, not Chekhov.
