Gollum could've easily been the Jar Jar Binks of the "Lord of the Rings" franchise had Andy Serkis not turned in such a compelling performance-capture turn in his earlier appearances as the character. Thankfully he's back for "The Hobbit" (which makes sense, considering the character is in Tolkien's book too), though we only get a brief glimpse of him in the trailer.
