Expected Breakout Role: "Ruby Sparks" (July 25)
Why: The daughter of screenwriters Robin Swicord ("Memoirs of a Geisha") and Nicholas Kazan ("Reversal of Fortune," "Enough"), Kazan has the writer's bug in her blood and as a result she doesn't just star in "Ruby Sparks," she also wrote the script.  Directed by the "Little Miss Sunshine" duo of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, "Sparks" won't win over all audiences or critics, but Kazan gives a performance that at times is absolutely remarkable. Pencil in an Independent Spirit Award nomination for the actress; you'll be hearing a lot more about her after "Sparks."
