Selena Gomez will executive produce a 2013 'Wizards of Waverly Place' special
Even with the new R-rated comedy "Spring Breakers" heading towards release (at some point), Selena Gomez isn't ready to leave her young fans behind.
Disney Channel announced this week that Gomez will executive produce and star in a special "Wizards of Waverly Place" reunion event. It isn't quite a "movie," because it's only an hour-long and it will premiere in early 2013.
The story will take the Russo family to Tuscany, where Gomez's Alex accidentally works a spell that splits her into Good Alex and Evil Alex.
Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise and Gregg Sulkin will all return as well.
"With the phenomenal ratings of the 'Wizards' finale earlier this year, it became clear that fans of the series were not ready to say goodbye to Selena or the rest of the 'Wizards' cast," states Disney Channels Worldwide President and COO Gary Marsh. "As such, we're thrilled that the cast has agreed to reunite to bring their fans one last grand adventure!"
