Will AMC bring 'The Walking Dead' to the big screen?
Season 3 of the AMC hit "The Walking Dead" kicks off later this month, but the cable network is reportedly considering bringing the zombie story to the big screen.
While there's been no official announcement, Bloody Disgusting reports that there have been "rumblings" at AMC about the show making the jump to the silver screen sometime down the road. The possible film's content can only be speculated at this point.
"The Walking Dead," based on the bestselling comic series by Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard and Tony Moore, is hewing fairly closely to its source material and has a long way to go in order to cover all 100+ issues of the comic book series.
A feature version could act as a sequel, a prequel or be an original story that ties into the show's ever-expanding mythology.
Meanwhile, zombies continue to be all the rage in both films and TV shows, with such notable examples as "World War Z," "Warm Bodies," and the "Evil Dead" remake coming up, not to mention the possibility of "Zombieland 2."
