'Battlestar Galactica' prequel 'Blood & Chrome' won't come to TV

The "Battlestar Galactica" prequel "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome," ordered as a two-hour pilot back in 2010, will not be picked up to series.

"Though the vision for 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome' has evolved over the course of the past year, our enthusiasm for this ambitious project has not waned," stated Syfy's Mark Stern this week. "We are actively pursuing it as was originally intended: a groundbreaking digital series that will launch to audiences beyond the scope of a television screen. The 90-minute pilot movie will air on Syfy in its entirety at a future date."

So there you have a grain of hope: Syfy is hoping to possibly roll-out "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome" as a digital series. Possibly.

The news came just days after an unofficial "Blood & Chrome" trailer premiered to enthusiastic response at Anaheim's WonderCon.

"Blood & Chrome" stars Luke Pasqualino, Ben Cotton, and Lili Bordán and follows the young William Adama. The pilot was written by Michael Taylor and directed by Jonas Pate.
