Will Luke Skywalker train young Jedi in 'Star Wars: Episode VII'?
We still don't know who's directing it or who's starring in it, but do we have our first real hint about the story in "Star Wars: Episode VII"?
In an article about the area in Guatemala where a handful of scenes in 1977's "Star Wars" were shot, Reuters may have given away the secret plot to the upcoming "Episode VII."
In "Star Wars," the lush forest moon of Yavin 4 is home to the rebel base from which Luke Skywalker and friends launch their attack on the Death Star. The exteriors were shot in Tikal, Guatemala, an ancient Mayan site.
The article states "Yavin 4 and the rebel base return to the Star Wars plot in the forthcoming Episode VII, announced in October by the Walt Disney Co, in which Skywalker comes back to the planet to build a Jedi Knight academy. However, fans said that Disney will likely film those scenes in a studio rather than return to Tikal."
Wherever it is shot, could this be the basic premise to the first new "Star Wars" film of the new Disney era? Nothing is official until it's official, of course, but the plot sounds more than feasible, allowing for the original cast to return in order to mentor a younger generation of heroes, villains, droids and aliens.
Mark Hamill (who played Luke in the original trilogy) has already expressed interest in returning to a galaxy far, far away, as have original co-stars Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.
