'Girls' star Adam Driver joining Andrew Garfield in Martin Scorsese's 'Silence'
"Girls" star Adam Driver is about to join a boys' club.
Driver has signed on to join "Amazing Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield and Ken Watanabe ("Inception") in Martin Scorsese's religious drama "Silence."
Based on Sh?saku End?'s novel, "Silence" depicts the journeys of two Portuguese Jesuit priests in 17th Century Japan.
Scorsese's longtime editor Thelma Schoonmaker recently noted that the film will be part of the director's unofficial "trilogy of religiously-based films," along with "The Last Temptation of Christ" and "Kundun."
Production on the long-delayed "Silence" will likely begin next summer, according to Showbiz 411.
In addition to the new season of "Girls," Driver can currently be seen in The Coen Brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis." He'll soon be seen in "Tracks," alongside Mia Wasikowska.
