Showtime develops Neo-Nazi drama from Robert De Niro
Showtime has begun development on the Neo-Nazi-themed drama "The 4th Reich," from executive producers Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro.
The script, from Sonya Winton and Jonathan Kidd, focuses a neo-Nazi group in South Boston, according to Deadline.com.
Described as "American History X" meets "The Town," it focuses on an imprisoned former leader of the Brotherhood who gets out of jail when he agrees to become an informant for the FBI.
De Niro and Rosenthal's Tribeca shingle also has "The Good Shepherd," based on De Niro's 2006 feature, in development at Showtime, as well as a pair of drama scripts set up at CBS.
