CBS gives 'A Gifted Man' three more episodes
"A Gifted Man" has been reliably winning its hour on Friday night, but the drama has also been CBS' lowest-rated program among adults 18-49.
Perhaps that's why CBS only gave the Patrick Wilson drama a tentative vote-of-confidence earlier this week.
According to Deadline.com, CBS has given "A Gifted Man" three additional episodes, bringing its first season order to 16. That'll give "A Gifted Man" a longer Friday 8 p.m. run than "Chaos" or "Defenders," but it leaves the heavily promoted show well short of the full season orders already given to CBS' first-year dramas "Person of Interest" and "Unforgettable." CBS also ordered a full season of "2 Broke Girls," while the network's other new series, "How To Be a Gentleman," was swiftly cancelled.
CBS announced several midseason premieres earlier this week without mentioning the network's only midseason drama, "The 2-2."
