Jack White no longer scoring 'Lone Ranger'

Jack White was originally on tap to make the score to Gore Verbinski's forthcoming "The Lone Ranger," but now the lone rocker is off the job, with Hans Zimmer taking his place.

In a statement to IndieWire, Disney said this: " “Oscar winner Hans Zimmer, the musical mastermind behind Disney’s and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ has signed on to compose the score for ‘The Lone Ranger.’ Jack White, who had originally been contemplated to score and has contributed several pieces of music to the production, was logistically unavailable due to scheduling conflicts that arose when the film’s release moved to July of 2013.”

"The Lone Ranger was originally skedded to drop in May next year but it has been pushed back. Zimmer is also scoring "Man of Steel," also out next summer.

So what is White going to be up to in the spring that will keep him from getting his first movie scoring gig, hm?
