Possible storyline for 'Justice League' surfaces

While there's not much yet known about the upcoming "Justice League" film, a possible storyline has surfaced, and it would be suitably large-scale for the summer superhero epic slated for 2015.

While there's currently no director attached, Will Beall ("Gangster Squad") has been hired to write the script, and reports indicate that DC and Warner Bros. have a storyline for the film, based on a classic comic book arc.

According to Latino Review, sources say that Beall is getting his inspiration from "Justice League Of America" issues 183-185, originally released in 1980.

Written by Gerry Conway with art by the famous George Perez, the three issue story centers on the villainous Darkseid, who plans to destroy the Earth and replace it with his fiery home world of Apokolips, a place where war and misery reign supreme. Naturally, the League -- including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Dr. Fate and others -- have to stop him. Sounds like a summer blockbuster alright.

While nothing is official, this new information adds to the previous rumors involving Darkseid, who bears striking similarities to the planned "Avengers 2" villain Thanos.
