Dave Grohl's Sound City Players revealed
Dave Grohl's directorial debut "Sound City" is guaranteed to be wall-to-wall music stars. He assembled a live music group in support of it, so it's only natural to assume it'd be about the same.
And it is. This week, the Foos frontman said he'd be joined by Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour, Lee Ving of Fear, Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, Alain Johannes and Chris Goss plus cast of his current and former bandmates including Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Krist Novoselic, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear.
A release refers to this as the "first" incarnation of the band, so look for other iterations after the Jan. 18 performance debut at Park City Live in Park City, Utah, after the doc makes its debut at the Sundance Film Festival. "Future Sound City Players lineups and dates will be announced as they are confirmed."
