'Fringe' loses one of its co-showrunners

"Fringe" is going to head into its finale next season without one of its longtime showrunners.

According to TVGuide.com, Jeff Pinkner is departing "Fringe" in what is described as a "amicable split." The site says Pinkner is leaving "in order to pursue other projects."

Because who *doesn't* leave a show they've co-ran since its very earliest days with only 13 episodes remaining in order to pursue other project?

J.H. Wyman will be sole showrunner for the fifth and final season.

Pinkner and Wyman have run the show since Season 2. Pinkner was added as showrunner very soon after the pilot, which was created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

The fifth and final season of "Fringe" starts on Friday, September 28.
