'Up All Night' multi-cam experiment will get only one episode

"Up All Night" is going to have to hit the ground running in an attempt to prove itself in its newest incarnation as a multi-cam comedy.

According to Deadline.com, NBC is going to film one multi-cam "Up All Night" episode, which will be directed by industry legend James Burrows. NBC had originally ordered five multi-cam episodes, but trimmed the order back to one.

And, as was announced last week, that episode will be without original star Christina Applegate. But will Applegate be replaced by an alternative actress? It's unclear.

It's also unclear when, if ever, audiences will get to see that episode, featuring stars Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph and shepherded by Linda Wallem, the comedy's third showrunner.

Whee!
