Lindsay Lohan's 'The Canyons' picked up by IFC
"The Canyons," Paul Scrader's erotic noir thriller starring Lindsay Lohan, is coming to a theater near you.
IFC Films has acquired the sure-to-be-controversial low-budget thriller and will release it on VOD and in theaters early this summer. Before rolling out, it will receive a special premiere screening at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City.
Directed by "Taxi Driver" writer and "Hardcore" helmer Schrader from a script by Bret Easton Ellis ("American Psycho"), "Canyons" also stars porn star James Deen. It was partially funded through crowd-sourcing and centers on the sleazier aspects of the Hollywood lifestyle, where a sex-addicted, successful film producer (Deen) discovers his femme fatale of a girlfriend (Lohan) is cheating on him with an actor from her sordid past. As you can imagine, there is reportedly a lot of adult-oriented material in the film.
Boy, "Herbie: Fully Loaded" sure feels like a long time ago.
