Is Jason Statham playing the villain in 'Fast & Furious 7'?
With "Fast & Furious 6" not hitting theaters for another few months, is it OK to start the rumor process about "Fast & Furious 7"?
The earliest buzz about the franchise's inevitable seventh entry indicates that yet another genre vet will be joining the fray, this time in a villainous role.
Jason Statham -- who got a workout in the "Expendables" films, the "Transporter" trilogy and, most recently, "Parker" -- will allegedly play the main villain who tangles with Vin Diesel and his crew in "FF7," according to Ain't It Cool.
The news has become too widespread to bother with a "spoiler alert" for this article, but apparently "FF6" ends with the revelation that Statham will be the series' new villain, the brother of "FF6" baddie Luke Evans.
"FF6" also stars Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Gina Carano,Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Michelle Rodriguez.
"Fast & Furious 6" hits theaters May 24, 2013.
