ABC renews 'Wipeout' for sixth season
In one of the least surprising announcements of the summer, ABC has renewed the venerable obstacle course series "Wipeout" for a sixth season.
The new episodes, set to air in 2012-2013 will include the 100th episode of "Wipeout."
Of minor note for "Wipeout" fanatics, the series will also bring back original co-host Jill Wagner for the new episodes.
"I’m thrilled that we will hit a major milestone in our sixth season, our 100th episode. We’ll be celebrating all season long with brand new over-the-top courses and the return of Jill Wagner to the ‘Wipeout’ family," blurbs Matt Kunitz, creator and executive producer, repeating exactly what the press release already said.
ABC boasts that "Wipeout" was the 2011-12 season's No.1 show overall for "Family Co-viewing" on major networks, which means adults 18-49 watching with teens and kids.
