Prince will be honored at Billboard Music Awards
Prince needs to make some more room on his award shelf.
The Purple One will be honored by the 2013 Billboard Music Awards in May. He'll be the recipient of the Billboard Icon Award and is set to perform during the event.
The singer-songwriter-producer is currently prepping a three-night stand at a small club in his native Minneapolis, with rumors circulating that he'll be announcing tour dates soon.
Last year's Billboard honoree was Stevie Wonder, and he was given an all-star tribute led by Alicia Keys.
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and will be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, May 19.
