Seeing as it's one of the most anticipated films of the year, fans are dying to know more about Warner Bros.' upcoming Superman reboot "Man of Steel." Now, co-star Russell Crowe has revealed a bit more about the film.

In "Steel," the Oscar winner plays Jor-El, the Kryptonian father of Superman (Henry Cavill), and it sounds like we'll get to see some of his home turf. 

While promoting his new film "Broken City," Crowe spoke about "Man of Steel" to Reelz, revealing that the film will take place partially on Superman's doomed home planet of Krypton. He also contends that this version of the iconic DC Comics hero is "super sonic," with no old-fashioned wires needed to make him fly. 

“I'm really looking forward to seeing it, it's a massive undertaking," he said. "It takes you on the ground to Krypton, it takes you to a planet where the sun is four times larger than ours and you get to experience that stuff and if you've seen the trailers you realize that this Superman is not just floating through the air held up by a wire, this Superman is super sonic. I'm really looking forward to the way that people will respond to it." 

Just how much of Krypton will be shown is unknown at this point, but it's safe to say that "Steel" will lay down a detailed mythological foundation for a potential franchise. 

Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon and Diane Lane. Zack Snyder ("Watchmen," "300") is directing, while "The Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan is executive producing. 

"Man of Steel" opens June 14.
