'True Blood' lands its post-Alan Ball showrunner
With Alan Ball set to step down as "True Blood" showrunner after Season 5, HBO has secured his successor.
According to Deadline.com, Mark Hudis is in place to take over as showrunner for Season 6, if HBO decides to renew "True Blood." [Note: HBO will renew "True Blood."]
Hudis is currently a co-executive producer on "True Blood." He and Ball were both writers on "Cybill" way back in the day. His other credits include "Nurse Jackie" and "That '70s Show."
Ball is expected to remain creatively involved in "True Blood," while also executive producing Cinemax's "Banshee."
