The National’s new documentary ‘Mistaken for Strangers’ to open next month
The indie rock band The National is the subject of a new film, which promises to be more revealing than typical rockumentary fare
The documentary started when frontman Matt Berninger invited his brother Tom to be the band’s roadie on an Eastern European tour. Tom quickly becomes more interested in filming the tour than moving its gear and what transpires is an intimate look at the siblings’ relationship. The documentary also includes plenty of concert footage.
“Mistaken for Strangers” premiered at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival and will be released in theaters and on demand on March 28.
