Anthony Mackie really wants to be in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'
Let's get right to it. Anthony Mackie really wants to be in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron.'
Mackie plays Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." In fact, you may have seen him flying with his big metal wings in some of the trailers for the new Marvel Studios release. While The Falcon has been a longtime crime fighting associate of Cap, he's also been a member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes since 1979. In fact, he's even on two different comic book rosters of the Avengers at the moment (the main team and Luke Cage's "Mighty" Avengers). We don't need to remind you of a lack of diversity regarding the movie's Avengers membership (Sam Jackson doesn't count), but The Falcon has always been pretty badass. The film has already begun its very long production schedule and Mackie tells UK magazine Total Film (via Coming Soon) he calls Marvel Studios every Monday, "I'm like, 'So have y'all decided if I'm in Avengers 2 yet? I'll get on the bus to Albuquerque tomorrow!' I wanted to be a superhero from the first day that I started in this business, and to have the opportunity to be a superhero is kind of remarkable. If I get the opportunity to be in The Avengers 2, 3, 7 and 18, there's no way I would complain or balk at any part of that…"
Who can blame him?
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" opens nationwide on April 4.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" hits theaters May 1, 2015.
