A&E cancels 'Breakout Kings'

A&E has cancelled the drama "Breakout Kings" after two seasons.

According to Deadline.com, the decision not to move forward on the drama came two weeks after the conclusion of season two and was followed by Matt Olmstead's move to serve as showrunner on NBC's "Chicago Fire." Series co-star Laz Alonso had already moved on to NBC's midseason drama "Infamous."

"Breakout Kings" was originally developed as a FOX pilot in 2010. The network opted not to move forward with the drama, but A&E stepped in and gave the show a second chance.
