10 Sequels We're Actually Looking Forward to in 2014"
Are you ready for more 'Hunger Games,' ' X-Men,' and 'Muppets'?
'X-Men: Days Of Future Past'
Release Date: May 23
Why It's The Sequel We Want: When 20th Century Fox basically told Marvel they could pry the rights to the X-Men films from their cold, dead hands, fans despaired. Surely this meant Fox would be cranking out sub-par sequels, only interested in the bottom line. So when it was announced Bryan Singer would be returning to tackle 'Days of Future Past' of all plots, we were flabbergasted. One of the most celebrated, complex, and popular story arcs of the comic series, DoFP deals with our worst fears — just as relevant today as in 1980 — from nuclear fallout to martial law to government sponsored population control via medicine. Aware of the legacy of this particular plot line, Fox has set up an extensive ARG (Alternate Reality Game) in the form of two websites. Trask-Industries.com deals with the technology behind the Sentinels while TheBentBullet.com is a mutant smear campaign. All this adds up to a team of people willing to go the extra mile for those of us who want the lore which is a fairly good indicator care is being taken with beloved characters.
