10 questions Hollywood can't stop talking about
From 'Star Wars' to Melissa McCarthy to 'Open Road'
Just how much money will Disney make in 2015?
it's amazing to think that just 12 months ago things were very stressful on the Walt Disney Studios lot. "John Carter" was a historical write-off, the box office prospects for PIxar's "Brave" were unclear and beyond Marvel Studios the company had little in the pipeline. Today, Disney is coming off a slew of hits ("Wreck-it Ralph," "Oz: The Great and Powerful" and has a future "Star Wars" movie coming down the pike. In fact, 2015 is looking as though it may be one of the greatest individual grossing years for a movie studio in box office history. As of today, Disney's schedule includes "The Avengers 2" (sequel to the third biggest movie of all-time), an original Pixar film for summer (currently untitled), "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" ("On Stranger Tides" did $1 billion), Marvel's "Ant-Man," Pixar's "Finding Dory" (the sequel to the Oscar-winning and massive hit "Finding Nemo") for Thanksgiving and just a little movie currently titled "Star Wars Episode VII." $4 billion worldwide? $5 billion? Place your bets and buy that Disney stock if you can.
