Word is no one was privately campaigning for the gig more than Jon Favreau.  And, considering Favreau's work with "Zathura" and "Iron Man" he'd be a natural to step into the "Star Wars" world.  But like "The Avengers," Favreau didn't get the gig.  His next film is "Jersey Boys," which is supposed to shoot this year, but no one would have held him to that if the "Star Wars" job was his. Perhaps the third times the charm?
