Just last month, Abrams told Empire Magazine he'd turned down directing the new film because of his loyalty to "Star Trek" and that he'd "rather be in the audience."  What did producer Kathleen Kennedy do to change his mind?  Did Majel Barrett-Roddenberry give her blessing?  Or, was the paycheck and childhood dreams just to hard to turn down?
