You know, everyone wants to talk about Marion Cotillard in Jacques Audiard's "Rust and Bone." And that's fine. She's great. But I can't help but think the elephant in the room here is Matthias Schoenaerts, who burst onto the scene in last year's "Bullhead" and gave, in my opinion, the better of the two performances in this film. It's a two-hander, so it's unfair to really pit one against the other, but I'm only responding to the season doing the very same thing. Schoenaerts deserves as much love as Cotillard's getting, at the very least. - Kristopher Tapley
