Looking way outside the box, one might be inclined to give John Lithgow a peek in Judd Apatow's new comedy "This is 40." The legend of stage and screen plays an emotionless, forthright father opposite Leslie Mann in the film, and he brings a different level to the proceedings. He even comes replete with his own Oscar clip toward the film's end as he and Mann have a blow-up confrontation. Seriously, though, it's been, like, forever since Lithgow got an Academy Award nomination. And I could just as easily include Albert Brooks in all of this. - Kristopher Tapley
