The "Capote" Oscar winner played a really mean bad guy in "Mission: Impossible III," proving that's he's can go beyond playing just a likable schlub or a creepy weirdo. This year's "The Master" solidified his menacing onscreen presence, while the upcoming "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" places him in a rare fantasy-action context. With a few months at the gym, Hoffman could even pull off playing Daredevil's super sized adversary Kingpin.
