10 of the worst box office hits of all-time
$200 million plus doesn't mean its good
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Release date: April 19, 2002
U.S. box office: $241 million
Why it's bad: Like many people, I was dragged to see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" by someone who's about three decades older than me. Her name is Mom, and she'd already paid to see this horrific piece of crap about 700 times by the time she willingly exposed me to what essentially amounted to a 90-minute waking nightmare. There I was, trapped in a theater full of mouth-breathing loons who were inexplicably guffawing at Windex jokes and extended scenes of bad mugging by some actress I'd never heard of. This couldn't be real, I thought; this couldn't be my life. But it was. Nia Vardalos existed, and she had made this movie. And people liked it.
