10 most heart-stopping moments in 'Breaking Bad' history
3. The bathtub containing Emilio's decomposing body falls through the ceiling
Episode: Season 1, Episode 2 ("Cat's in the Bag...")
I did not start watching "Breaking Bad" when it was airing its first season. It wasn't until a Blu-ray collection for season one showed up at the house that I decided to take a chance on it. I thought it was well-made for the first few, but I wasn't convinced that this was a keeper until this moment. When they did this, I realized that this show was going to be play dark and that it was going to mix humor and very human horror and that we weren't going to have our hands held as an audience. Morality in entertainment is a strange thing, because often what we watch is nothing we would actually do, and yet executives frequently get nervous about showing us protagonists who do terrible things. When it became obvious that they were unafraid of showing us the darker, more horrible consequences of being part of this life, I was onboard for whatever ride they had planned for Walter White, and with each successive season, it feels like they've absolutely lived up to the promise of what remains one of the single most grotesque and upsetting images I've ever seen.
