10 most heart-stopping moments in 'Breaking Bad' history
7. Tortuga's decapitated head arrives on a tortoise, then explodes
Episode: Season 2, Episode 7 ("Negro y Azul")
Undoubtedly one of the series' most-rewound moments, this explosive scene -- which shockingly ended the brief role of cult favorite Danny Trejo as DEA informant Tortuga -- underlined the ferocity of the drug war as the show's local corner slingers gave way to well-organized and heavily armed cartels who have no qualms about killing law enforcement officers. In addition to testing the resolve of Hank, who had been promoted to El Paso after killing Tuco, the ol' exploding tortoise gag also indicated that Walt was seemingly getting in way over his head.
