10 most heart-stopping moments in 'Breaking Bad' history
9. Gus poisons the cartel
Episode: Season 4, Episode 10 ("Salud")
Pride, more than anything, killed Don Eladio, as Gus played the long con to exact his revenge on the head of the Mexican cartel. Fring, Mike and Jesse were welcomed into the hacienda after Pinkman executes a successful cook, and on the very same grounds where Fring's brother was murdered by the Don, Fring kills the whole posse with the sound of "Salud." "Fill your pockets and leave in peace," Gus warns any remaining houseguests who hadn't drank the poison. "Or fight me and die." Gus, you nasty badass. As Gus suffers from his own ingestion and Mike is wounded in a final shootout, Jesse again gets his moment to shine in front of his employers. Here's Walt White resting at home after a snot-beating; this trio just dominated an old-school empire with a bottle of tequila and the good blue stuff. It was a fine moment to showcase Gus' polite cunning, and the match Walt would have ahead of him.
