While not a great movie by any means, and certainly lacking the classy widescreen dread of John Carpenter's groundbreaking original, the 1981 sequel is a nasty, high-energy jolt that picks up exactly where the first one ended, making the two films feel like one long night of Michael Myers terror. "Halloween II" also ups the ante by adding more deaths and more elaborate kills (like the outrageous topless hot tub murder).
