10 great horror movie sequels
Can 'Paranormal Activity 4' or 'Silent Hill 2' measure up to these picks?
'The Devil's Rejects'
Rob Zombie's follow-up to his interesting but very flawed 2003 gore-fest "House of 1,000 Corpses" is so different from its predecessor it feels lifted from a completely different universe, with the neon-hued, midnight acid-fest of "Corpses" swapped out for a Southern-fried road movie that takes place mostly in broad daylight. The gap in quality is large as well - "Rejects" being the far superior film that goes to some pretty interesting places, particularly once the tables are turned on the demented, torture-happy Firefly family. Zombie has yet to better this effort, though with "Halloween 2" he again demonstrated his penchant for crafting sequels that surpass his own originals.
