James Spader

Okay, he's not an obvious choice. But given the way he walked into an existing show ("The Office"), took center stage and blew us away with his freaky charisma and quirky acting choices, we'd love to see what he'd do in Downton. Plus, he's shown us his period drama credentials in "Lincoln," so we know he can deliver the goods, with or without the weirdness. Oh, and he can play harmonica. Wouldn't that be a droll way to entertain everyone after one of those long formal dinners?
