African-American movies find a new star in Kevin Hart
In a somewhat distressing trend, Hollywood's studios have pretty much conceded that African-American genre over the past few years to Tyler Perry. That all changed with the crossover success of Screen Gems' "Think Like A Man." Based on Steve Harvey's best-selling novel, the comedy grossed an astonishing $91.5 million on a budget of just $12 million making it one of the most profitable pictures of the year. Screen Gems was lucky enough to have Harvey plugging it non-stop, but also the rising popularity of comic Kevin Hart who was a fixture in every trailer and TV spot. No disrespect to "Pitch Perfect's" Rebel Wilson, but Hart (who has 6 million twitter followers by the way) is the industry's hot new comedy star.
