2) 'Introduction To Puppetry'
The season’s funniest sketch aired in its very first episode, with a simple premise that yielded devastatingly funny results. Bill Hader’s war vet Anthony Coleman is a wondrous creation, fully formed from the moment he appears onscreen. The genius of the sketch comes not simply from the way Hader inhabits the role, but the skill of puppetry on display that helps sell the relationship between the puppets and puppeeters. Come for Coleman’s crazy flashbacks. Stay for the subtle way Vanessa Bayer’s character/puppet falls under his sway.
