Played: Jared in season 2's "Greenzo"
"30 Rock" has had a lot of fun with the egotistical bordering on sociopathic tendencies of actors over the years. It's been primarily through Tracy and Jenna but at times through memorable guest characters like Jared, a struggling actor whose last paying gig was in an anti-Hillary Clinton ad for Rick Lazio before being hired as Jack's pro-environment but pro-corporation superhero Greenzo. The success of the character quickly goes to his head, as he tells off everyone in the building (Cerie: "Did he just talk to me like I'm ugly?"), makes a mess of his "Today" appearances, and doesn't take kindly to Jack firing him, asking, "Can you fire the wind, Jack? Can you fire a hurricane?" Schwimmer hasn't acted a lot since "Friends" ended, but he makes this performance count (and fares far better than Jennifer Aniston would a year later), thoroughly embracing the delusions and arrogance of the man in the green suit.
