Oscars 2011 Winners and Losers
The trophies were important, but who claimed best and worst of Oscar night?
Loser: Pixar animated shorts
You know how Pixar always wins Best Animated Feature and that seems all intimidating and almost boring? You know what Pixar almost always loses? Best Animated Short. This year's loser? The excellent "Day & Night," which was trounced by "The Lost Thing." I could be wrong, but is it possible that no Pixar animated short has won at the Oscars since "For the Birds" in 2002? That almost makes up for how totally unbeatable the studio has been in the feature category and at the box office.
