White Rabbits, "It's Frightening" (tbd Records)
Brooklyn-based indie band via Columbia, Mo., follows up 2007's "Fort Nightly" with accomplished sophomore set. Produced by Spoon's Britt Daniel, "It's Frightening" is atmospheric and moody, yet totally accessible, Best cuts are the driving, yet lulling "Rudie Fails," somber "Leave It At the Door" and the percussive, dreamy "The Salesman (Tramp Life)." In some weird way, they're the Violent Femmes for the new age.
