Director: Christopher Nolan
Why we'd consider: Yes, Nolan has been pretty averse to certain technological bells and whistles in the inevitable advance of cinema technology. He balks at digital in favor of celluloid and prefers the immersion of a massive IMAX image, but that said, he's not completely down on 3D. He considered shooting "Inception" in the format but found the technology too restricting, and he even did post-conversion tests that he was happy with. He opted out, however, due to time constraints. But of all his films, "Inception" would be the one that could benefit most from a quality conversion. The striking visuals of the film already have a texture and depth and they would pop all the more, putting you right in the middle of his dreamscape.
