Year first released: 1990
Director: Tim Burton
Why we'd consider: O.K., Burton didn't win a lot of moviegoers over with his 3D "Alice in Wonderland," but the stop-motion animated "Frankenweenie" was a completely different story (and "The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D" wasn't bad either). Burton has a number of fantastical life action films that would be intriguing to see in three dimensions, including "Sleepy Hollow" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," but "Scissorhands" is the best picture of the bunch. The Tim Burton and Winona Ryder modern fairytale is the closest Burton has come to a masterpiece and 23 years after its release it's still arguably his best film. And who wouldn't want to see Edwards's amazing hair creations in 3D?
