'The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover'
Year First Released: 1989
Director: Peter Greenaway
Why We'd Consider: Yes, we're aware this might not be the sort film that people are willing to throw money at, and the post-conversion process is not a cheap one. But if we're just talking about movies that might benefit from the process, Peter Greenaway's big nasty NC-17 arthouse extravaganza would be a wild ride. The film has this great artificial quality, making the most of an elaborate set, and it is precisely because of that theatrical vibe that we could imagine seeing this in 3D. By the time that final horrifying dish is served, audiences would feel like they need a shower or two, feeling as if they were actually there in that madhouse. Plus… Helen Mirren naked. What more could you ask?
