"The Americans" (FX, January 30)
What we said about all FX comedies being worth a look goes double for the channel's new drama series, which are always interesting even when they don't work. This one's a period piece, set in the final decade of the Cold War. Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys play KGB agents posing as an ordinary American couple in Washington, D.C. shortly after Ronald Reagan's election as president. "Justified" showrunner Graham Yost is one of the producers (the creator is "Falling Skies" alum Joe Weisberg), and he's brought a taste of Harlan County to this new show, which will feature Margo Martindale in the cast. Mags Bennett + FX = win.
