Set aside the behind-the-scenes rumblings about production hiatuses and showrunner swaps and focus on what's tangible: "Alcatraz" is a J.J. Abrams-produced slice of mythology-rich, time-travelling mystery co-starring Sam Neill, Robert Forster, Jorge Garcia, Parminder Nagra and Sarah Jones and some people are going to love the heck out of it. The plot has something to do with hardened criminals from Alcatraz who may or may not have disappeared decades earlier and are popping up in the present day with unfinished business. The pilot was filmed on The Rock, but subsequent episodes were not. See if you can spot the green screen!
