Lowdown: "An epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspires a revolution."
Drew McWeeny says: Financed largely with German money, this is an ambitious project, and the combination of Tykwer and the Wachowskis directing different segments of an interconnected story about fate and the soul sounds like a one-of-a-kind thrill. The idea that they're using the same actors in different configurations across the different segments is exciting, and if anybody is right to make a genre-bending film about wrestling with identity, it would seem to be the Wachowskis.
