20. "Les Miserables"
In theaters: December 7, 2012
Director: Tom Hooper
Cast: Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter
Lowdown: The hugely-successful musical finally makes its way to the big screen with the Oscar-winning director of "The King's Speech" at the helm.
Drew McWeeny says: Oooooh. Risky. You take a guy fresh off an Oscar win and a huge property that's stymied filmmakers for decades and you put them together and you get… what? Hard to tell, since this one hasn't even started production yet and it's already staked out a spot in next December's prime awards-season real estate. Jackman's a good call, and Crowe's an interesting choice opposite him. And, hey, you've got Cohen and Carter together again, so "Sweeney Todd" fans, your moment has come.
